Faction & Group Rules
At GTA Universe, we empower groups to create, grow, and lead immersive stories, driven by realism, effort, and organic roleplay, where every faction earns its place through genuine involvement!
Faction Support System Introduction
Welcome to GTA Universe, where creativity and ambition are encouraged, and our Faction Support System provides every group with the opportunity to bring their visions to life. We believe that roleplay should be free from the restrictions of traditional "faction management" systems, where a small group of administrators controls who can start a faction or what storylines can unfold. Here, players are the authors of their own stories, and we support that freedom with systems designed to foster organic growth and immersive roleplay.
While we encourage creative freedom - We do still require concepts that are grounded in realism. Should your concept stuggle to fit our "Universe", thats ok. We will work to give you the tools or adjustments needed to succeed. Thats what true faction "management" is all about.
Whether you're looking to create a gang, business, crime syndicate, or any other organized group, you don't need permission—just passion and dedication - And a faction thread. The ONLY requirement is that you have created a faction thread and you keep an active list of the members discord within the faction thread.
Our lore is built around our unique city and does not mirror any real-world location like Los Angeles. That means our government, organizations, and groups exist solely here, allowing players the creative liberty to explore and innovate without focusing on a 1:1 lore that is bent to meet the narratives of whoever has the most OOC power. We encourage you to embrace the diverse possibilities and craft stories that matter to you.
However, with this freedom comes responsibility. While you are free to start any faction, your group must remain grounded in realism for America, and our server's systems are built to support factions that grow through genuine effort and involvement in the progressional systems we've created. The most successful factions are those that rise organically by utilizing the systems available to everyone, from running businesses to engaging in high-stakes activities.
For instance, the journey to becoming the ranking Narco Cartel will be a long journey. But it is a journey that anyone, no matter their race, creed, or affiliation can achieve. What it does require is politics, activity, learning where key mechanics are located, learning what key ingredients are required and building the network to obtain them effeciently to expand your cartel empire.. All of these things require different people, roles, and knowledge within the community.
We all know of the communities where 1-2 groups (Who are usually led by an admin) obtain the most opportunity by way of OOC means or friendships - Only to .... In our universe, you will have to compete every step of the way to be the best and with hardcore roleplay in mind, the experience will be unmatched!
Our Faction Support System gives players the tools they need to flourish while ensuring that every faction puts in the work to create compelling narratives. We're excited to see what you will bring to the table!
Faction & Group Rules
Before we dive into the the Faction Guidelines, please be aware that all government type factions, such as LEA, military, etc - IS not subject to our "Freedom" policy. If your faction concept requires drastic changes or implementation into critical systems, then it is subject to approval and review from day 1.
Freedom to Create: Players are free to start any faction, group, business, or entity without prior approval. As long as your idea remains within the bounds of realism for America, you are free to bring your vision to life. -- Should you not get it right the first time, We will mentor those who struggle with their vision so that they can conform to the traction of our economy.
Grounded in Realism: All factions and groups must align with realistic scenarios and entities that could exist within the United States. While we encourage creativity, we expect players to avoid far-fetched concepts (e.g., space alien hunters or overly exaggerated criminal organizations that don't fit the localization aspects of a City).
Organic Growth: Factions must grow naturally by engaging in the systems we've developed. There are no shortcuts or special permissions for success. Top factions will have done the work, earning their status by fully utilizing the open systems available to every player. This may include the most notable Meth cook, or becoming the leading lubricants (DW-80) manufacturer or supplier... Both of which takes a large network of people and mechanics to carry out. These mechanics are organically contested activities and the ones with the best plan and execution will succeed.
Engagement with Server Systems: All factions must engage with and contribute to the server's systems, whether it's running businesses, committing crimes, or organizing community events. These systems are designed to encourage involvement and collaboration, ensuring that every faction's story feels earned. You don't build guns without products from 3-4 other systems... And no one can do more than 1 to 2 of these systems alone.
In-Character Consequences: Your actions as a faction will have in-character consequences. If your group becomes too notorious or engages in significant criminal activity, expect to face law enforcement or rival factions. Actions in-game drive the narrative, and no faction is immune from these consequences.
Seizures ARE effected here. As an illegal player, If you have grown your assets to include mansions and yachts, and all of the finer things --- If you have not put much thought into hiding those assets or legitimizing them, they may be involved in an indictment and effectively seized should the evidence stack against you!
Capital Murder - Should killing be your go to response to roleplay, be prepared to face the death penalty.
Our systems are all about RISK & Reward. We will not be swayed from this logic. You are provided an opportunity to make millions from illegal activity - you will also face loss of the assets should they be proven as connected to your illegal empire.
Respect the Lore: While GTA Universe's lore is unique to our server and does not mimic Los Angeles or any other real-world city, we ask that factions respect the in-game lore and the dynamics of our setting. Your faction should feel like a natural part of this world.
No Admin Bias: We do not operate on a "faction management" system where admins play favorites or dictate what groups can or cannot exist. Our role is to support your ideas and provide you with the tools to succeed, not to gatekeep. If you beleive their is an instance of bias, you can take advantage of our open door policy by contact @Banjo.
Respect for Other Players: While rivalries and conflicts between factions are expected, always respect other players and their stories. Keep all actions within the boundaries of roleplay, and avoid personal disputes or harassment.
Faction "Wars" must be approved by management.
A faction war must only exist if both parties have exhausted all acts of diplomacy.
I.E. If two Cartels are fighting over supply of coca leaf, the two cartels must work to either split the supply of coca leaf or compensate the others for a larger share.
Should neither side be interested in making concessions in the name of diplomacy, then a ware can me authorized after a thorough "War Review" by server Management and Faction Support
Authorized "War"
Should a faction war be approved, both sides will be required to provide a list of three ranking members, begining with the faction "Boss". There will also need to be a set of terms agreed upon to end the way. These will be documented by server management and faction support.
All ranking members within that list will be subject to Character Kill if killed within the duration of the war.
War is not to be taken lightly, and it is encouraged that one of the parties eventually adhere to terms to end the way.
Should neither part commit to the terms, the war shall exist until either 2 out of the 3 ranking members have been Character killed, or the Boss has been killed.
Upon ending a war via kills, the losing side will be subject to sanctions and potential loss/forfeiture of strategic property or claims to the winning party.
At GTA Universe, we are excited to provide a sandbox of possibilities, where every player can contribute to the world through their faction, group, or organization. Your creativity, dedication, and hard work will shape the future of our city!
